NOODLING- Catching catfish with your bare hands. (Can't go bare handed their teeth would tear your hands to pieces)
Sunday before last Jade and I went with a couple of Jade's friends from Vivint noodling. It was quiet the experience. I just went along to get video and honestly I didn't want to miss out. This is something I didn't want to hear about because I knew this is something Jade has been looking forward to since we decided to go to Tennessee for the summer.
There is so much more to it then the dictionary says.
1st- you find holes that they bury underneath boat ramps.
2nd- find out if there is any catfish underneath. Most of the time there is two catfish the male and female are there to protect their eggs.
3rd- Make the catfish so mad that it bites your hand. That takes a little bit depending on the fish. They use a hook on a bamboo pool to get them agitated.
4th- Grad their bottom jaw firmly enough that they don't get out. Apparently catfish do the death roll like an alligator does. We lost a couple of fish from them twisting their bodies after you have a hold of them.
Above are video of Jade and Benji, Jade's fishing buddy and friend from home, catching the male and female from one hole. Both fish were around 15 pounds or more I can't remember. Our guide caught a 60 pound catfish this season so just picture Jade's fish like 4 times bigger CRAZY!! They are so weird looking. Jade enjoyed it so much he wants to make a trip back here sometime to do it again. It is a lot scarier then it seems. I am glad I was able to experience this with my husband we all had so much fun!

I'm surprised those fish only weighed 15 pounds, they are humongous! That is just insane. I mean, I'm a super fish nerd and I love water, but you would have to seriously talk me into that, I think. You bunch of loopy rednecks.
